We were asked to create a brand new career site from scratch with all new content and images, a clear employer brand message, and lean functionality to improve attraction and engagement.
A midsize organization wanted us to build up a brand new career site where none was available. The goal was to create an entirely new, cutting edge site that would reflect what the company was all about and make it easy for visitors to enter and want to apply. We wanted it to be “responsive,” meaning it will reshape itself to fit on a tablet, laptop, mobile phone, and so on. We also wanted it to contain clean aesthetic consistent with the look and feel of the company.
We interviewed executives inside the company to better understand the challenge we were facing. Our goal was to present an outline for the process and make sure it was consistent with the corporate message and EB messaging. We worked closely with a key executive on the inside, but there was probably over 10 colleagues who contributed input in some form or another.
How many times have you Googled a company to learn something about it? We’re not talking about just the facts and figures, but the culture – the feel of the place and it’s career opportunities? In this case, there was absolutely nothing available anywhere for people to read, watch or absorb.
Companies are always looking for an edge in the race to find top talent and the new career site provided the company with an advantage. In creating the new career site, we wanted to ensure that candidates could not only search for jobs, but it was also important that the site be easy to navigate, and candidates were able to find information quickly.
The website itself provides immediate insight into the company with a banner image and links to content relevant to job applicants. Candidates can now learn about the company culture, values and benefits, and links to primary social media outlets.
